Today was a special day as Whitney got her first haircut! (She will turn 3 on the 15th of November and had never had a haircut!) She sat very still and did really great! What a big girl she is!

She is sitting in Ms. Jessica's chair. She thought the cape was pretty neat!

Here is the first cut
Whitney is very focused....
Finished!! Thank you Ms. Jessica...I love my cut and especially loved the glitter!!!

Moberly Trip

On Monday we went to Moberly, the home of my mom. We went for a graveside service of a cousin that had passed away but we were able to see a lot of family that we hadn't seen for a very long time. Of course, Aunt Shirley, one of my favorite aunts was there which is always a highlight. Whitney calls her "Aunt Surrey".

Bucket Feeding

To the delight of Whitney and her cousin Nikole, PaPa is bucket feeding a little calf. The girls got to help feed the calf its dinner tonight!

Whitney loves to say, "It's SOOO Cute!"

Picking Cucumbers

Whitney loves being in the garden and is especially fond of picking cucumbers!

The Water Truck

For those of you that don't know...Whitney loves the water truck. This is the truck that her PaPa uses to fill the Spray Coop or as Whitney calls it the "Scray Poop" with chemical to spray the crops. Whitney always is on the lookout for the Water Truck and today it was at MeMa and PaPa's house! What a thrill!!

"I love you Water Truck but wow...you are really big!"

First Trip to the Zoo

On Friday, of course we picked to go on the hottest day of the last 2 weeks, we ventured to the Kansas City Zoo. It was a great time. Both kiddos rode the entire time in the stroller and Whitney's favorite things were the elephants.

Notice Whitney's outfit, complete with matching sunglasses, coordinating hat and flip flops which you can't see. Wyatt is more interested in his toes!

We were in "Africa" and they had about had it by this time! We went home when we "got out of Africa"!

Whitney loved every minute...however the highlight was the carnival rides!

Whitney loved the "Worm Coaster" . Her and Nikole rode it many many times!!

Whitney on the battleship...she is in complete thought..ready for Battle!!

Wyatt spent his Fair time riding in the stroller and enjoyed watching!

Our Little Gardener

This year I thought it would be alot of fun to plant a garden at my mom and dad's house. Whitney of course joined in on the fun. She helped with the planting, raking and general dirt work.
She always wears dresses or skirts...so even when working in dirt...one must wear a skirt. She loves to pick out her own clothes...at least this time the outfit matched!

Memorial Day 2009

The tradition continued as the entire Erickson Clan gathered at the Erickson Lake House for Memorial Day. This year was even more exciting because the number of grandchildren from last year has over-doubled to a total of 5! (All of which or 2 and under!) What fun!!

The Entire Erickson Clan!

Also new this year was a sandy beach. We all loved it, but it was heaven for Whitney and cousin Emma.
(Thank you to the Erickson brothers for the lot and to Grandpa for the sand!)

Part of every year's fun is the Vahalla Triathlon. Competition is was fierce...above is a picture of the big winners...Way to go Daddy!!!!!

Wyatt spent a lot of time checking out Caroline (they are a week apart in age). What fun they will have as they get older!

Whitney loved floating in the lake with Daddy on her "Pink Boat". It couldn't have been any better since pink is her favorite color.

Wyatt just preferred to stay at the beach! Next Memorial Day...watch out!!

There is our little Texas in Whitney!

Wyatt chillin in the grass...just waiting for the next thing to come along!!

Our little Erickson clan...what a great time we had! Yeah T-E-X-A-S

3 Girls...3 Mizzou Grads

May 15, 2009 was the final day of a "Dinse" girl being enrolled at the University of Missouri. What a fun run it has been. My baby sister, Lisa graduated from the Nursing School. We are so proud of her. She will be leaving for the Air Force in August and then after training will be based in Washington D.C. serving our country as a R.N. (Lisa...you better get your calendar ready...hope you like house guests!!)

Of course we wouldn't have missed it...we were all there to celebrate this awesome day!!

We couldn't be prouder of her! Great Job Lisa!! Welcome to Alumni status!!

Watch Out Whitney...Here He Comes!!

As of this weekend, Wyatt can now pull up on things. He hasn't mastered crawling as his main mode of transportation is still the "inch worm", but he is now pulling up on things. A sure way to get him to stand up is put the remote up on something....he will go for it every time (defiantly his father's son)!

Standing UP!

Wyatt is very focused and determined. If he gets his mind to get something, he will go after it full force!

He is into everything and especially loves to dump things over and get under anything!!
He is especially thrilled when he gets something of Whitney's. He is holding one of her princess dresses. He waits for her reaction and of course she is immediately upset, the he just laughs at her!
Ahh...I am in trouble!!!

Whitney Goes to Sunday School

May 10th was Whitney's first time attending Sunday School.
She was so excited and we were excited for her.
She is ready to go in!

She is peeking in. Grandma is inside waiting for her to come on in.

Our little girl is growing up. She is doing such big girl things! We couldn't be prouder or happier as parents. She is so much fun and keeps each day interesting!!!

Mother's Day 2009

We had a great Mother's Day. We started the day going to church. After church, I got to pick where we I wanted to eat lunch. I picked KFC (I love their chicken, mashed potatoes and coleslaw) It was yummy!

How hysterical is it that their expressions are just the same!! Such happy faces!!??!!
The afternoon we spent at home...I even got a nap!
That evening we went to Mary's house to celebrate Nikole's 4th Birthday.
This is a picture of the "Dinse" moms.

It was a great day! I feel so blessed to have such a great family!!!

"If I Could Just Get Going"

For the past week, Wyatt has been really trying to crawl. He can get up on all fours, but then ends of scooting like an inch worm to get to where he wants to go. Whitney gets totally frustrated when he even touches her things...(She doesn't even know what is yet to come for her!) and he just giggles and smiles when she is upset! I am in trouble!!! Ahh!! Here are a couple of pictures of him "in action"

"If I could just reach it...I am so close"

Wyatt is up, but when he wants to move onto his tummy he goes.

This is a short video of him on the move as an inch worm. I am always talking, but was quite so you could hear him. Whitney and Lexus both pass through:)

One Special Day

On April 26, we had Wyatt baptized. It was a very special day. He did really well and didn't even cry; however, he was not really please when the minister held him. Needless to say, the minister handed him right back to me. He is pretty much a momma's boy right now and keeps pretty close track of me at all times. (I love it though)

Our little family...Everyone is all smiles! (At least for the moment)
We were so blessed to have our family with us to celebrate this special day. Check out Wyatt's expression. He loves being the center of attention!!
Thanks to everyone for making this day so special. It is a day that we will cherish!

MU Spring Game

Despite rainy weather when we left our house this morning, we decided to brave it and head to Columbia for the MU Spring Game. Along with the game is the annual football player reunion. All players and their families are invited to the press box for lunch and a short program. It was great fun getting to see alot of familiar faces!

Whitney loved looking down at the field and was totally mesmerized by the whole thing!

Whitney and Wyatt both really had a great time...and we did too! Wyatt has the "YO...What's up?" sort of look.

A highlight for Whitney was seeing Truman. She and Wyatt got to go down on the field with Steven and have their picture take. We have books about Truman and she thinks he is top notch! She was totally in awe of the entire thing!

We all got a picture with Truman...despite Wyatt being a little irritated.

Things They Love

Here are some action shots of some of our favorite things!

Wyatt was in the process of eating a blueberry muffin.

Obviously, he loved it!

Whitney loves being outside and likes to inspect everything. We have been talking about there being green leaves on trees and bushes. Finally, Spring is here!
